Raw Beauty of the American Southwest
Arizona has some of the most varied and striking landscapes I’ve ever photographed. From deep canyons and red rock formations to the wide-open Sonoran Desert, it always gives you something new.
This gallery captures some of Arizona's most unforgettable moments during a few of my trips. I was at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon when an approaching snowstorm added some moody drama to the canyon’s already overwhelming scale. You'll see a glowing sunset illuminating the sweeping curve of Horseshoe Bend. The iconic saguaro cacti proudly stand in the Sonoran Desert in Tucson, while a fiery sunset glows over historic Tombstone. Morning light breaks across the buttes and mesas of Monument Valley, and the sculpted sandstone walls of Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon reveal nature’s intricate patterns of light and shadow.
These images celebrate Arizona’s powerful geology, resilient desert life, and unforgettable light, some of the things that keep pulling me back to the Southwest. I hope they give you a sense of why. Enjoy the journey through the Southwest.
